The garden had lain neglected for many years, but they have inherited good records of the property and are working towards putting it back to its original condition, including repairing the glasshouses. There are walkways and paths, lined with old fruit trees, old roses and many herbaceous shrubs and perennials. The garden is bordered by magnificent specimens of old trees and glorious rhododendrons. The southerly part of the walled garden is home to a large vegetable garden. A work in progress.
Over half of the gardens are taking part to support open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
