The one-third acre garden provides a meandering walk under the pergola to beds set in the lawn. The fish share their pond with grasses and lilies, and the garden walk continues beneath 20-year-old pine trees, under-planted with shade-loving perennials. Heather, junipers and conifers provide an all-year-round centrepiece. There are many seating areas to rest awhile and, for the hardy, a stout footwear walk can be taken through the surrounding woodland. Planting has been chosen to encourage bees, birds and butterflies, and the hens potter in their woodland enclosure.
This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
