Join ceramicist Alison Thyra in this festive workshop where you will make your own ceramic Christmas ornaments. You will learn how to roll out clay and shape two ornaments of your choice from a selection of designs, add texture with clay stamps and decorate with colourful underglaze paints. Finished ornaments will be fired and glazed by Alison and returned to FOLD for collection from 13 December onwards.
Alison Thyra makes iridescent ceramic jewellery and homewares in her studio in Aberdeenshire. Gray’s School of Art graduate where she studied 3D design, specialising in ceramics. Her geometric ceramics are made using a combination of hand making techniques, a process called slip casting, and digital technologies, such as 3D printing.
Please wear appropriate clothing for working with clay and paints. Recommended for children age 6+, under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.
