The Isle of Coll has a rich, fascinating and often rare birdlife that attracts visitors all year round. The 3-day Coll Bird Festival will introduce you to some of the key species of breeding and passage birds, including the elusive corncrake, with:
- guided boat trips to Lunga and Gunna,
- guided walks,
- an evening of presentations from knowledgeable speakers, and
- family activities,
It takes place in early May when your chances of seeing the corncrake are at their highest, and offers an insight into the work on the island’s RSPB reserve.
