Conductor: Ben Parry
Soloist: Libby Crabtree
Hot on the heels of our hugely popular Come and Sing ABBA, we are delighted that Ben Parry is returning to Edinburgh to conduct Musicality – a miscellany of musical showstoppers.
Join us on a musical tour around the world and across the decades, from Dickensian London to pre-war Austria, from Rydell High to Bali Hai. Musicality offers something for everyone, with songs from a wide variety of shows including The Sound of Music, Guys & Dolls, Carousel, South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Grease, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Oliver!
You’ll rehearse with a live band before performing in a late afternoon concert which will send you and your audience on their way with a spring in their step.
Musicality is organised jointly by Waverley Care and the Kevock Choir, as part of the Choir’s 50th Anniversary season.
Ben has a busy career as a composer, conductor, arranger, singer and producer in both classical and light music fields. He is Artistic Director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Assistant Director of Music at King’s College, Cambridge and co-director of London Voices, with whom he has worked on the soundtracks of many major films, including The Hobbit, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Spectre. His compositions and arrangements have been heard at the BBC Proms and on the hit TV series, Glee. Previously resident in Scotland, Ben co-founded The Dunedin Consort and was Director of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus.
