The Brassketeers are: Cillian Ó Ceallacháin – Trombone, Lauren Reeve-Rawlings – Horn and Jason Lewis – Trumpet Jason, Lauren and Cillian first met in the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. They each joined the Orchestra within six months of each other, Cillian and Jason as principal players and Lauren as 3rd horn. Jason has subsequently moved to the Royal Scottish National Orchestra where he is now associate principal trumpet. Between them they have worked with many orchestras, both nationally and internationally. The list of orchestras includes the Philharmonia, Liverpool Philharmonic, the Ulster Orchestra, many of the BBC Orchestras, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Mittelsächsische Philharmonie and the World Orchestra for Peace. The Brassketeers was formed three years ago as a way for Lauren, Jason and Cillian to express themselves further as players and chamber musicians. As the group has grown and developed, so has their passion for bringing this unusual, and very seldom heard combination of instruments to a wider audience. Recent projects include working with the education department of Scottish Opera to create an interactive performance for schools, and recitals for Music in Dumfries and Doune and Deanston Music Club.
