Working from her little yellow garden studio in Aberdeenshire, Leonie
Cowie of Art Rox in a Box
[https://www.instagram.com/artroxinabox/] is a self-taught potter who
creates unique hand-built ceramics. Well known for her face pot
planters which are inspired by women from different cultures and
backgrounds, she is also influenced by life experiences and her
surroundings. Leonie loves to work with all types of clay, even
producing her own earthenware from local mud that she harvests and
processes at home.
Join Leonie for an afternoon of ceramics where you’ll learn how to
make your own wall hanging planter. Using stoneware clay and colourful
ceramic decals, Leonie will guide you through the process of hand
building your planter, before taking it back to her studio to fire.
Your pieces will then be ready to collect from DCA from Mon 8 August,
ready to be filled with your favourite plant and hung indoors or out.
As always we'll have plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits to help fuel
your making during this fun afternoon of crafting.
