Craft Sunday
Polish art lover Agata Pietrusz [https://www.instagram.com/agata_pietrusz/] lives in Glasgow, where she spends her days working as an architect and her evenings illustrating. Inspired by mid-century design and folk art from around the world, she creates colourful artworks on wooden objects. Scouring second hand shops for rolling pins, paddles, plates, vases and candle holders, Agata meticulously transforms them with her bright and colourful portraits. She likes the idea of taking ordinary objects and giving them an unexpected second life as art.
Join Agata for a fun afternoon where you’ll get the chance to rummage through her box of collected wooden treasures and create your own colourful painted portrait. Agata will guide you through the process of creating your design and transferring it onto wood using simple techniques. Paint a self-portrait or one of your favourite pets, aunty, next door neighbour or favourite film star, then take it home and smile every time you walk past.
No previous portrait painting skills are necessary and we’ll have plenty of tea, coffee and sweet treats on hand to help fuel your making and creativity.
