Self-taught embroidery artist, Nicola Montague taught herself how to sew during a severe bought of agoraphobia. Diagnosed later in life with autism, she’s a huge believer in crafting and creativity helping with mental health and wellbeing, as well as it being fun. Often referred to as our ‘Craft Sunday Ambassador’, Nicola has attended almost every Craft Sunday workshop over the last five years and loves experimenting with new techniques and crafts. She’s a member of Dundee Stitch and Textile group and the Embroiderers’ Guild and has exhibited work both locally and nationally.
Join Nicola for a relaxing afternoon of sewing. Learn some new techniques or brush up on some you haven’t used for a while, and create a beautiful monochrome stitched artwork. Using both 2D and 3D embroidery stitches, colourful yarns and fabric, Nicola will guide you through the process step by step, as well as offering helpful tips and tricks along the way.
As always, we’ll have plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits to help fuel your making during this fun and creative afternoon.
