Dundee Design Festival is a seven day celebration of design hosted by the UK’s only UNESCO City of Design - Dundee. Explore local, national and international design, through a city wide programme of events, exhibitions, films, talks, tours and workshops.
The 2018 Dundee Design Festival will feature a specially developed programme co-created by Young People to celebrate Scotland’s Year of Young People and the role young people play in design.
Highlight events include the Dundee Design Parade - a spectacular, multi-arts parade inspired by our fellow design cities across the world a made by local young people, designers and artists as it snakes across the city in a riot of colour, sound and design. Watch a riot of colour, music and design as Dundee’s first Design Parade snakes its way through the city. Line the streets and watch as hundreds of young people show off their creations inspired by design objects and stories from our sister UNESCO Cities of Design.
Revisit last year’s theme with an exhibition of Factory x Designer, showcasing the work made as a result of our Factory Floor residency programme.
See the world around us through other people’s perspective as we present Dundee’s first Pecha Kucha Night Takeover. A fast paced evening with a range of diverse speakers, this May PKN Dundee will be programmed by Young People.
Following a Co-Design approach, young people are a driving force in shaping, developing and implementing all events for the Year of Young People 2018.
