The Atholl Duo is an vibrant young duo partnership based in Scotland. Both successful performers in their own right and passionate about promoting and playing chamber music. The players met 10 years ago while studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and have been pursuing varied freelance careers ever since.
The Atholl Duo are committed to exploring the wide and diverse repertoire for flute and percussion. The rich and beautiful sound of Marimba with Flute creates a new sound world to well known established repertoire as well as works originally written for the combination. They combine the versatile pairing of flute and percussion in playing everything from Piazzolla to Bach.
Born in London, Lee studied at the Purcell School of Music. During her time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Lee graduated with both a Bachelor of Music (Hons) and a Masters of Music in performance with Distinction. Currently as a freelance orchestral player Lee performs and works with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra of Scottish Opera.
Glynn is a Glasgow-based freelance percussionist enjoying a diverse musical career, having graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2013. As a keen chamber music performer he has enjoyed involvement in projects with Glasgow New Music Expedition, Rednote Ensemble, the Pavel Haas Quartet, and Auricle ensemble, enjoying the wide variety of music available to the modern day percussionist. Aside from percussion playing, he was the drummer for C Duncan's UK and European tours for Mercury Award-nominated album, 'Architect'.
