Eaglesham Fair is an historic event with origins dating back to the 17th century. In 1672, after a petition to the Scottish Parliament by the eight Earl of Eglinton, an act was passed authorising an annual fair on April 24th. The April fair was often held in May and in, 1831, the day of May 26th was fixed for the first cattle competition, organised by the newly formed Eaglesham Farmers' Society. The fair died off but was revived in the early 1900's with a big revival in 2005 since then over 5000 people have been flocking to our biennial event. There is little doubt the fair is a fun day that people look forward to. This year we are celebrating 350 years of the fabulous fair with our theme "A Right Royal Party" this coincides with The Queens Platinum Jubilee Weekend. We have a whole host of events including a parade, funfair, craft stalls, beer tent, live music and much more.
