An exhibition of limited edition papercuts and jewellery by Emma Westwater.
For centuries, the Grimms' anthology of folk tales has been a source of inspiration for artists, illustrators and composers. Emma follows in this tradition, placing these iconic stories in the setting of modern day Leith with a series of bold, graphic papercuts and accompanying acrylic and wooden jewellery.
Emma describes herself as a design geek with a passion for paper and printing. Her father was a typesetter and printer, so she has always been at home around lettering and ink. By combining her love of colour, illustration and paper samples she has developed a unique, bold and graphic style that celebrates the beauty of her surroundings and the stories they contain.
Emma lives and works in Dunbar, East Lothian.
