Encaustic means ‘to burn’. It dates back to Ancient Greek practise in the 5th century BC. It involves using molted beeswax melted onto a hot iron surface to create different textures and effects. In this workshop you will take away 10 postcards and learn the basic techniques to create Christmas theme postcards over three hours. Encaustic Art is a therapeutic and fun technique. No art experience necessary! Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. You will be working with hot encaustic irons and hot stylus pens. All materials will be provided. Tea and Coffee will be provided by the gallery. The venue is up one flight of stairs.
