Many of the most interesting and scientifically valuable natural sciences collections are the legacy of amazing expeditions.
Scientists fuelled by curiosity and the quest for knowledge brave the unknown and potentially hazardous, looking in new places or in new ways to reveal new truths about our world. New life is discovered, new materials and natural features uncovered and natural phenomena explained, but not all goes to plan and not everyone makes it back alive.
From the surface of Mars to the stark chill of the Antarctic and the moisture and richness of the South American rainforest to a back yard in Bearsden, this new exhibition reveals fascinating tales of expedition triumph and tragedy.
Please note, Exploration is open from 11.00am until 4.00pm on Sundays.
