The biennial Findhorn Bay Festival started in 2014 and takes place in even-numbered years, bringing music, performance and the visual arts to the Forres area. The fast-growing festival is organised by Findhorn Bay Arts, which places the emphasis firmly on informality and accessibility.
You can expect to find performers mingling with the public, and as well as attracting major artists from across the country (previous years have featured musical performances from Julie Fowlis, James Yorkston, Eddi Reader and Shooglenifty), the festival is also a showcase for the creativity of people in Moray.
Previous festivals have taken their cue from Scotland’s themed years, so the 2016 event highlighted Innovation, Architecture and Design, with exhibitions about the built environment as well as conservation and environmental projects. In Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018, we had music, performance and installation by and for young people, at least some of which are bound to make use of Moray’s miles of beautiful sandy beaches.
We are now back in 2020 with yet another unforgettable festival!
