The project merges contemporary dance and music as a reimagination of the extinct tribe of the Selk’nam. Inspired by the Selk’nam mythology and the magnificence of the Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) landscape, Chilean creators Vanessa Osses (choreography) and Manuel Figueroa-Bolvarán (music) offer an imaginative picture of their relation with both the terrenal and supernatural world. Two dancers on stage represent the masculine/feminine duality in which their many rituals (Hains) are developed. The story-telling tradition that allows us to hear their extinct voice is the main narrative from where we construct and observe our ancestral consciousness, inviting the audience into an immersive experience.
