The Vatican Astronomer, Brother Guy Consolmagno SJ will deliver a lecture that asks what happens when political and social pressures mix with science? Is there a particular “Jesuit” form of science? From Acosta’s work in the New World to modern research at the Vatican Observatory, Brother Guy Consolmagno will look at the work of a number of Jesuit scientists through history and see what they did, and why they did it.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served from 1815.
This lecture will be interpreted into British Sign Language (BSL)
