The Got Soul Choir is a registered charity founded in Edinburgh in 2012 by Maryam Ghaffari. It’s charitable purpose is to bring people out of loneliness and isolation by getting connected through singing soul music. The choir has successfully expanded to Dundee and Glasgow and, in 2018, will start a new choir in Fife. Got Soul Choir have performed sold out shows at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall (with special guests Mica Paris in 2016 and 5 After Midnight in 2017), Glasgow’s O2 ABC, Dundee’s Caird Hall, as well as events like Edinburgh’s Fair Trade Fiesta, Glasgow’s West End Festival and Dundee’s WestFest. In 2017 the Choir opened the live performances at Edinburgh’s world famous Hogmanay Street Party, appearing on three stages simultaneously to perform a new arrangement of Queen’s 'Don’t Stop Me Now'.
