Growing Poetry is coming to Glasgow! We're building a friendly, kind and supportive group of poets at the wonderful Wee Retreat in the south of the city - a group full of people who need a little (wee!) boost to get words on the page... which, we think, is almost all of us.
We aim through our workshops to help you to silence the inner policeman, remove the fear of the blank page and just let the words speak (editing can happen another time!). We never insist on anyone sharing their work - this is very important to us.
The theme for this workshop is 'GROW'
"I have come away with so many ideas for so many poems. I have learned so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you" - Participant, Growing Poetry Workshop -
You will leave the workshop with an armful of started poems and inspiration techniques, a handful of prompts to take home, and, of course, a tummy filled with tea and cake.
There will be time at the end of the workshop for you to read one of your poems aloud if you would like to - you are welcome to bring one with you that you have written before the workshop. This is not necessarily for feedback, more for the experience and benefit of hearing your words out loud. It's also a safe space to read aloud for the first time.
"From the moment I stepped in, a positive and happy energy greeted me. I felt calm and welcome in the beautiful airy space." - Visitor, The Wee Retreat -
This workshop is aimed at those aged 16+.
