Grup Ternari is a unique Spanish musical ensemble comprising three musicians, two of whom play the “dulzaina” and the third who plays the organ. Their repertoire extends from baroque to the music of contemporary composers. Their unusual combination of instruments blends the sound of the dulzaina, a popular folk instrument from Valencia, with that of the organ, more solemn and sacred . The dulzaina's sound is comparable to the bagpipes and Grup Ternari hopes that this will particularly appeal to an audience in Scotland. They are a ‘not for profit’ group and are all professional music teachers, who love to share their music.
This concert is being put on to raise funds for Edinburgh Direct Aid. This charity works for Syrian refugees in Lebanon who are experiencing the worst winter storms in a decade (Storm Norma). More details can be found on the EDA website: http://www.edinburghdirectaid.org
