Following a sold out concert at Celtic Connections 2017 and an enthusiastically received Scottish tour in 2016, two of Europe’s leading acoustic players share a musical journey following the guitar’s development from its origins in Spain and North Africa across Europe, the Caribbean and the Americas.
Sardinian Giorgio Serci is an award-winning guitarist, composer, and arranger. He has recorded and shared stages with Jools Holland, Shirley Bassey, jazz master Kenny Wheeler and the CBS, BBC Concert and Berlin Philharmonic orchestras.
Jonny Phillips is best known for leading the Latin American-influenced band Oriole, one of the most accomplished groups on the UK jazz and world music scenes.
Together they play melodic, warmly engaging guitar music that includes original compositions and Spanish, Brazilian and Sardinian pieces.
