Kinross Museum has teamed up with local school children to tell three historic stories of hope and despair relevant to Kinross-shire through this exhibition display and series of leaflets.
The exhibition will focus on three dramatic real-life stories: the Witch Trials in the Crook of Devon, The Well at Scotlandwell – a place of pilgrimage and healing, and the Covenanters fighting for their faith. The stories will be brought vividly to life through displays which will include the school children’s own creative re-interpretations.
Local people and visitors will be able to take away a leaflet for each story – containing a map, the story and artwork – enabling them to engage with these historic events in the places where they actually happened.
Entry to the museum is free and it’s open Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Local storyteller Douglas McKay will also explore these three stories at a storytelling evening at Kinross Library on 17 November.
