The Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games is a family friendly event that celebrates all things Scottish, featuring modern & traditional sporting events including Highland Dancing, Athletics and of course, Caber tossing.
Although the Helensburgh Highland Games date back as far as 1889, they were resurrected in 2008 and have been growing from strength to strength & even featured on BBC 1's The One Show in 2011.
2019 saw a changing of the guard, so to speak. The Organising Committee's founding Chairman stepped down and handed over the reins, with this, the event is now about to embark on the next phase of its journey to becoming a highlight of the Scottish events & festival calendar.
The Helensburgh & Lomond Highland Games Organising Committee comprises of local individuals who care greatly about their local community & enjoy the challenges involved in planning and delivering an event which highlights & celebrates Scottish traditions, music and sporting events.
Each member dedicates their time, experience and expertise to the committee on a voluntary basis, each fulfils an important role and oversee specific aspects of the event both in the planning phases & on the day of the Highland Games.
