Hugh Dan’s Final Fling
Hugh Dan’s Final Fling will be a special performance marking the retirement from sports broadcasting and journalist Hugh Dan MacLennan, who has been the BBC’s Voice of Shinty since 1990. The evening show will take place the night before Hugh Dan’s final commentary on the Camanachd Cup Final in Inverness. The night will be hosted by co-commentator, musician and BBC Scotland’s Gary Innes. Audiences will be in with the chance to hear from some of the legendary figures Hugh Dan has worked with throughout his illustrious career, including BBC Radio Scotland’s Iain Anderson, the Ceilidh King himself Fergie MacDonald MBE and piping legend Duncan MacGillivray of Calrossie, with the latter two giving the audience a tune or three. There will also be a world-class performances from a line-up of award-winning musicians who have worked with Hugh Dan and Gary on various projects over the years. Audiences can expect a night of entertainment, fascinating historic stories and tales of sporting achievements.
