The Staircase, directed by Oscar-winner Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, follows the bizarre case of Kathleen Peterson’s death, and her novelist husband Michael’s subsequent murder trial. Originally aired on French television as an eight-episode miniseries in 2004 and earning the prestigious Peabody Award in 2005, the Netflix version of The Staircase, released this summer to further acclaim, includes three new episodes that examine Peterson's life today after the lengthy legal battle that ensued after his wife's death. David Rudolf promises to bring his unique perspective to the tale which has bewitched viewers, making for an evening of intrigue and insight.
