Introduction to Zen Buddhism
This three week course provides an introduction to Zen Buddhism. It is given by Sensei Karl Kaliski, a Zen teacher in the tradition of Roshi Philip Kapleau.
Each session will include detailed instruction, zazen (Zen meditation), a teaching on a specific aspect of Zen practice and theory, and time for questions, advice and guidance on posture and other practical aspects of Zen practice.
The course will run over three Thursdays weeks beginning on Thursday 23 January and ending on Thursday February 6. Sessions will run between 6.15 – 8pm.
The sessions will include:
Thursday 23 January: The basics of Zen practice and getting a regular practice established
Thursday 30 January: The challenges of Zen practice and integrating practice into daily life
Thursday 6 February: Different types of Zen meditation practice, how they work and what they offer
