The Fiddlers’ Rally has always been a popular event in the Eden Court calendar and last year saw the Inverness Fiddlers performing for another much appreciated and well attended performance. Once again the Fiddlers will be joined by fellow enthusiasts from all over Scotland to form an orchestra of around 100 players performing a varied programme of traditional music from Scotland and beyond. The Fiddlers’ Rally provides both a visual and a musical spectacle since the performers are tartan-clad for this musical highlight. Joining the Inverness Fiddlers as Special Guests will be renowned Fiddler Bruce MacGregor along with local multi-instrumentalist Anna Massie. Bruce MacGregor has been one of the most influential traditional musicians in Scotland over the last two decades. Forming the multi-award winning Highland fiddle super group “Blazin’ Fiddles” in 1998, Bruce has been the voice of Scottish folk, as a long term presenter of BBC Radio’s Travelling Folk. Anna Massie is one of Scotland’s foremost guitarists and multi-instrumentalists who excels on the fiddle, mandolin and tenor banjo. Anna is a three-time nominee for the Best Instrumentalist at the Scots Trad Music Awards as well as 2022’s Producer of the Year. Seats for the Fiddlers’ Rally will be in high demand so we recommend you secure your ticket well in advance of the performance date.
