Having to postpone such a major event because of uncertainty around the Covid-19 restrictions was a huge disappointment for art lovers so we are incredibly excited that, after working closely with the artist and collectors generously lending from private collections, we are able to reschedule rather than cancel.
The exhibition will be on for a longer period – 18 weeks instead of the original 10 – giving you added the opportunity to attend over the summer and October holiday periods.
We have also been able to build in changes that will improve the overall visitor experience, including longer time slots.
The exhibition has generated widespread interest as it will feature early paintings by Vettriano, including nearly a dozen produced before he decided to become a full-time artist and are signed Jack Hoggan, his birth name. It will be a celebration of his extraordinary career and will be showing paintings he created from in his 20s until he moved to London in 2000. We look forward to welcoming you to Kirkcaldy Galleries to see this great exhibition.
