Originally, Jane Raven worked with glass and stone and is a founder member of the Scottish Lettercutters Association. Ten years ago, she literally went back to the drawing board and turned her considerable talent toward painting and print making. Her love of the natural world, and its smallest marvels: plants, seeds, mushrooms, seaweed and fish, have become a body of sophisticated, Zen like images - as much lessons in printmaking as they are captivating images from nature.
Jane is unusual as a printmaker as she doesn’t restrict herself to one technique. Her body of work will include copper and zinc plate etchings, Toyobo (photopolymer gravure) prints, Gyotaku (Japanese fish) prints, Monotypes, Relief prints and Stone Lithographs. A wide and varied combination from one artist.
Also open Mon 7 Oct by appointment only.
