Cup of Peace and Simplicity – Tea Ceremony Demonstration
As our Hornel exhibition closes, we are delighted to invite you to our closing event.
The Japanese Tea Ceremony is at the heart of Japanese culture and Zen tradition and dates back to its founder Sen no Rikyu (1522-1591). The philosophy of the way of tea is: Harmony, Respect, Purity and Tranquillity. Urasenke Tea Master Mio Shudo will perform the Japanese Tea Ceremony demonstrating the art of tea with its minimalist flowing movement, beauty and grace.
Free and drop-in.
Please note that due to the current situation with Covid 19 we may need to run this event on a digital platform rather than in the venue; such a decision may have to be made at short notice. If a switch to an online event is required this will be communicated here and on our Twitter account @Edinculture.
