The Jazz Party once again provides the finale for the Festival. Stirling Crisis was formed about 10 years ago when a group of medical friends got together in Stirling to play jazz. it comprises two ophthalmologists, a pathologist, a neurologist, an occupational therapist and an ex-nurse/ambulance driver - so we have a strong medical flavour.
On the front line we have Angus Scott (saxophones) and a familiar face at Balerno events, Bruce Michie, on brass and saxophones. In the rhythm section we have David Huggan on bass, Alex McClure on drums and Roger Cull on piano. Balerno audiences may have seen David and Roger in the Borders Big Band. Our vocalist, Jenne McClure is a familiar face and voice in Balerno, and just happens to be married to our drummer, Alex.
Our repertoire is mainstream jazz, though we also play some jazz-rock and fusion tunes as well, so there will be some new material to listen to, as well as the tried and tested favourites.
We are looking forward to playing at the 11th BMF Jazz party.
