Bird educator and expert, Chris Rollie, will guide a two-and-a-half-hour circular walk on the Watson Bird Trail along the Water of Ken, up onto The Mulloch, and back down into St. John's Town of Dalry where the artist Donald Watson lived for most of his working life.
Chris will encourage a close attention to the presence, and absence, of birds on the route, and, referencing the artwork of Donald Watson, draw participants' awareness to the changed, and changing, Galloway landscape.
The one hour writing workshop in the Town Hall afterwards will offer the opportunity to develop noticings and imaginative responses made during the walk into a poem or short piece of prose. Full details of the route, itinerary, facilities, and what to bring are available on the website.
