A Tote bag is an easy project for children to sew. It gives them plenty practice in foundation sewing techniques. They must already have learned how to use a sewing machine on one of my Kids Introductory sewing classes.
Sewing is an ideal craft activity for children. It help mental and physical development, encouraging focus and concentration. Hand-eye coordination is improved and also manual dexterity.
Completing a sewing project gives children an immense satisfaction and cultivates a sense of achievement and self-worth. And it's just really good fun.
Children must be aged 8-12 and be able to place feet flat on the floor when sitting in a chair that's 45cm high. If they cannot, then they will not be able to have full control of the machine's foot pedal, and for their own safety, will not be able to take the class.
All materials and equipment are included. I have a full PVG (disclosure Scotland) certificate.
Artisan Stitch has won a certificate of excellence and has been rated as provider of 'Best Sewing classes in Edinburgh'.
