This lecture will discuss recent discoveries, such as the results of new excavations of an extraordinary 7th century building at the abbey that have changed our understanding of the site. Peter Yeoman has had a long association with Iona Abbey, and in 2013 led a major new research project there which informed the re-interpretation of the site for Historic Scotland, including the creation of a new museum of the High Crosses and other early Christian sculpture.
