Hungarian poet George Szirtes and Bengali poet, editor and academic Professor Bashabi Fraser have a lot to say on Borders, and what could be a more pertinent subject in the context of Brexit, Trump's wall, refugees and their outsider status, the borderless internet, identity politics and the need for cross-border action on climate change – not to mention potential Scottish independence. This event will include readings from the two main speakers, but also invites poets and prose writers to read their own work and discuss their ideas (at a maximum of 5 minutes each).
