Chris travelled across Spain last year, repeating a (failed!) trip when he was 16, following the footsteps of earlier writer/travellers, Gerald Brenan in 1919, Laurie Lee 1935/6, and others. This journey formed the basis of his book - Everything Passes and Everything Remains (Journeys through Spain, Song and Memory). A session about remembering (and mis-remembering). How we form narratives of our lives. We'll discuss how to record the moment and how to write it, with extracts from British and Spanish authors, and song lyrics from Machado's 'Cantares' to 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep'!
