This event is part of Sharmanka's programme of live performances by local and international musicians, artists and performers.
Aprils live music event brings us an album launch from one of our much-valued friends, making a return to Sharmanka. Thomas Dalzell / Lives As Omens cut his teeth as a singer/synth player in various post-punk bands around Edinburgh in the late 1970s/early 80s. He's also played saxophone in a diverse range of ensembles, from 1950s-style R&B, jazz, and Scottish traditional fusion. He's been performing as Lives as omens since 2010 and occasionally as jazzhandstemazepamman. He released his debut solo album, Chymical Garden of Delights (on Komponist), in 2021.
Lives As Omens returns to Sharmanka to perform his ethereal ambient drone music amidst Edward Bersudskys marvellous mechanical sculptures, supporting his new album, The Saint Bartholomew Leisure Suit, which will be newly released for download on the Komponist record label.
The music event will be followed by a mini performance of Sharmanka's kinetic artworks. There are a limited number of tickets to fill this intimate space, so if you want to be there, the soundest advice is to book early!
