Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in association with Solar Bear presents
Love and Information, written by Caryl Churchill
Someone shares a secret. Someone can’t get a signal. Someone won’t answer the door. Someone gets a message from a traffic light…
Caryl Churchill is one of the world’s most daring and playful playwrights. Her previous plays include Cloud Nine, Top Girls, Serious Money. Love & Information, first produced at the Royal Court Theatre in 2012, is an exhilarating and funny theatrical kaleidoscope that asks questions about how we live in a world bombarded by information. How do we make sense of things? What’s true and what’s fake? What about intimacy, privacy, our relationships?
This Royal Conservatoire of Scotland production, accessible to both hearing and D/deaf audiences, showcases the talents of students on the BA Performance in BSL and English to venues across Scotland. It is produced in association with Solar Bear, a pioneering theatre company whose work celebrates the creative possibilities of inclusion.
The show is a series of 50 short scenes, and playfully explores different ways of making work for both D/deaf and hearing audiences. Some scenes will be in BSL, some in English, some will be a mix of both. Captioning will be used extensively.
