Scottish harpist Lucie Hendry returns to the stage this September with her trio, sharing music from her upcoming second album, Ashes to Art.
Blending the Scottish folk tradition with the vibrant Nordic contemporary scene, Lucies innovative, nature-inspired music reflects her life between Scotland and Denmark. She is joined by Scottish guitarist Chris Amer and Danish drummer Christoffer Skovhus. Together, they bring Lucies original compositions to life with intricate melodies, rich rhythmic textures, and a cross-cultural spirit that honours tradition and embraces curiosity. Following the success of her debut solo album Land of Eden released in June 2023, receiving national airplay in both the UK and Denmark Lucie and her trio have performed at major festivals including Celtic Connections, Stonehaven Folk Festival, Godtfolk, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, and Aarhus Jazz Festival. A rising voice in contemporary folk, Lucie was a finalist in BBC Radio Scotlands Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2021 and a nominee for Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the 2023 Scots Trad Music Awards.
With Ashes to Art, she continues to chart a bold, expressive path for the lever harp in modern folk music.
