Ludus Baroque’s unmissable contribution to the festive period, Bach’s magnificent Christmas Oratorio, performed on period instruments, is lauded for its “energy, vigour” and “exuberant performance” (The Independent). Their annual Bach performance has become one of the staple events of December and a firm favourite in concertgoers’ pre-Christmas choices and is a unique opportunity to hear all six cantatas performed together in the beautiful surroundings of Canongate Kirk.
This year they are delighted to present the Marian Consort, a young, dynamic, and internationally-renowned early music vocal ensemble.
Ludus Baroque: 'the orchestra played with a spritely buoyancy, full of festive cheer' (The Herald)
Marian Consort: 'Exquisite . . . the ensemble sings with eloquence and expressive finesse'
