Making Waves is Scotland’s new weekend seaside festival for families to celebrate the rich traditions of Scotland’s seaside entertainment with a contemporary edge. With music, arts, performances and fun activities on and off the water; families and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Scotland’s seaside entertainment in a stunning coastal landscape set against the backdrop of the Isle of Arran at Irvine’s Beach Park and historic Harbourside.
With spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde and along the Ayrshire coast, Making Waves takes place at Irvine where there’s a long sandy beach. You will enjoy big music acts and authentic local talent, maritime stories and entertaining shows rich in tales of ships and smuggling. Visit spaces for sampling sea-sports, racing boats and pottering about on the water.
There will be sea food and cosy bars and cafes to drop in to between trips to the seascape villages, surfing on science, turfing on food, riding on shock waves and floating on eco-savvy ideas.
