Makossa originated from the Scottish Borders, later moved to Edinburgh where it has been since the 1980s.
The band specializes in music with varied rhythms (Afrobeat, Reggae, and others). As part of its history, the band has played as support to some well- known acts (e.g ASWAD, and CHAKADEMUS & PLIERS).
