Explore the wonders of Scotland’s marine environment at the Scottish Seabird Centres’ Marine Fest 2020.
An interactive celebration of Scotland’s amazing coastal habitats and wildlife.
The Scottish Seabird Centre and partners will host a series of events throughout June 2020.
Marine Fest is a celebration of, and engagement with, Scotland’s stunning marine environment and wildlife.
The events will be accessible and engaging for all, including rock pooling, guided walks, citizen science, crafts, activities and interactive science shows. The marine-focused activities will be centred around World Environment Day 5 June) and World Ocean’s Day (8 June). 2020 is also the Scottish Seabird Centre’s 20th Anniversary; the perfect opportunity to celebrate together the wonder of Scotland’s coasts and waters.
Our stunning coastal location, overlooking the Firth of Forth islands, gives us unparalleled access to the seas, coasts and beaches. The surrounding waters and islands are of international importance for their habitats and wildlife, including the world’s largest Northern gannet colony (Bass Rock). Marine Fest will make full use of this stunning setting, including a mile of golden sand and rock pools full of fascinating wildlife. Indoor activities will be hosted in the Centre’s newly refurbished classroom, café and Discovery Experience, with interactive exhibitions and live wildlife cameras.
