We are delighted to be welcoming two exciting authors to the store to talk about their books, both of which explore the spiritual aspects of Scotland's landscape through their own very personal pilgrimages.
Setting off with just a small bag and a stick, Matt Hopwood walked for five hundred miles from Linisfarne to the Outer Hebrides, listening to the amazing stories of love that have shaped and transformed the people he met along the way. The result is the profoundly honest book 'A Human Love Story', exploring stories of romantic love, family and a love of place through the landscape around them. Each story is different, each beautiful, and each uniquely precious.
In Alistair McIntosh's book 'Poacher's Pilgrimage', he returned to the Hebridean islands of his birth. Over a twelve day pilgrimage in awful weather conditions he walked from the Southern tip of Harris to the northerly Butt of Lewis. As he battled with his own ability to endure some of the toughest terrain in Britain, he met with the healing power of the land and its communities.
This truly fascinating discussion will be chaired by Oban FM's Breege Smyth.
The event is free but ticketed; tickets are available from the shop.
