Paisley is set to welcome Scotland's annual celebration of Gaelic culture in 2023, hosting the Mòd’s week-long programme of music, drama, Highland dance, literature and sport.
Thèid Mòd Phàislig 2023, prìomh fhèill na h-Alba airson cànan is cultar na Gàidhlig, a chumail ann am Pàislig eadar 13-21 Dàmhair.
Mòd Phàislig 2023, Scotland’s premier celebration of Gaelic music and culture, will be hosted by Paisley from 13-21 October.
The Mòd is a mixture of competitions, concerts, ceilidhs and other events. In addition to the more formal element of the festival, there is also a lively Fringe programme.
Although Gaelic is at the heart of everything at the Mòd, all events can be enjoyed by non-Gaelic speakers and this is particularly true of the Fringe programme.
Bars around the town centre will feature live music to suit a wide range of tastes, and for the first time, there will be an official Mòd Festival Club, located in The Sneddon, handily-adjacent to Gilmour Street Station.
Signature Fringe events including a concert celebrating the publication of The Francis Tolmie Collection and on a spectacular closing concert when folk-electronica powerhouse, Niteworks, play their only Scottish venue show of the year in the newly-refurbished Paisley Town Hall.
Mòd Phàislig will also feature and extensive entertainment programme for children, with kids clubs and evening ceilidhs each day. There really is something for the whole family!
