The ever-evolving folk-alt-rock band from Newcastle Upon Tyne released their break-through album Salem in July 2017, established their own Pink Lane Records label, and started receiving national media attention for the first time, with coverage from R2 Magazine, Folk Radio UK, The Crack, Clash, No Depression, Blown Speaker and has been championed by BBC Introducing and Radio X.Following the album release, HMATC have toured the UK repeatedly, selling out venues across the country, and made successful debuts in The Netherlands, France, Germany and Italy as well as continuing their success on the festival circuit. In 2017 and 2018 theyve pulled off an accoladed appearance at Glastonbury, appeared at Boomtown Fair, Bestival + Camp Bestival and graced the main stages at festivals such as Beautiful Days, Bearded Theory, Moonbeams + Colours of Ostrava (CZ).Salems lead single, the barnstorming indie-rock anthem Cold Comfort Lane, broke through even further with Radio X and Spotify playlisting, as well as being used in film and TV via E4, BT Vision, Capital One, Ultimate Ears, KIA Sportage Cars and the end credits track for the 2018 summer blockbuster movie, Oceans 8.2019 saw the release of the bands third album Take A Bite. Led by the euphoric lead single, All I Got Is You, Take A Bite combines pop song craft with stomping, four to the floor backing, demonstrating the Newcastle-based sextets commerciality and ambition, as well as Ruths ability to tackle personal lyrical fare. The album received coverage from Clash, Crack (album of the month), NARC, Louder than War, 3 Songs and Out, Blues Matters, BBC Radio 4, Radio X and international coverage from 3voor12, Gonzo, Rootsime, Westzeit, Slam, Piranha and more. 2018 single Gravel Rag was used on Strictly Come Dancing. Take A Bite single Upside Down took the band on tour across mainland Europe in support of peers Skinny Lister, and again had a headline sell-out act of their own in September 2019. Whilst back at home the band sold out venues on their most ambitious tour to date, a tour which included Nottinghams Rescue Rooms, Sage Gateshead and Londons Garage. The band wowed Mac Arts audiences in April 2019, where they put on an epic set on a Sunday night. We are thrilled they are coming back on a Saturday!Dancing encouraged!
