LYRICAL, ROMANTIC BRAHMS FOUR VOICES, FOUR HANDS
The Liebeslieder Walzer are Brahms at his best: a piano duo working with a quartet of voices to craft lyrical, romantic music by elegantly invoking dance. Scottish baritone Andrew McTaggart is joined by three friends to present a programme of lieder by Schumann, Mahler and Schubert, before the Brahms of the second half. These fast-rising stars of the vocal world are supported by pianists Lliam Patterson and Laura Baxter, both familiar names to supporters of Scottish Opera, in bringing this enticing evening of song to Glasgow Cathedral Festival.
