A new year is the perfect time to try a new activity by participating in one (or all!) of our free New Chapter Creative Writing Workshops between January- March.
Each of our six creative writing workshops in community libraries across the city will focus on a different theme and be delivered by a different writer.
Our second workshop focuses on WRITING SHORT STORIES FOR FILM & TV ADAPTATION and will be delivered by Marc Pye at Bridgeton Library. Marc is the author of 4 novels and writer of many hours of drama for series and serials including EastEnders, Holby City, Hollyoaks, The Bill, Waterloo Road, The Royal, Holby Blue, Doctors, Echo Beach, River City, High Road and RTE’s Fair City, but is best known for writing The Flasher for the BAFTA, International Emmy and RTS award winning Series One of Jimmy McGovern’s The Street.
Join Marc for a 1-hour introductory writing workshop: during which participants will find out about Marc's experiences writing a script and getting it made into a short film. Then using one of his own short stories as an example, Marc will then guide participants through the storytelling process by looking at the ways in which it could be adapted for the screen.
