Celebrated cellist Alice Allen has played traditional Scottish music from a young age. A former Scottish Ensemble Young Artist who holds a Masters in Music with Distinction from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, her playing style is deeply rooted within both the Scottish and classical music traditions.
Allen has worked with many of the country’s leading performing groups – including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Concerto Caledonia – and played at high-profile music events in the UK and overseas. She also performs regularly with leading folk musicians such as fiddler Alastair Savage, and as one half of duo GAIA with violinist Katrina Lee.
